When printing directly from photoshop the images come out faded/washed out. When from PDF it's ok

Hi guys,

My images when printed directly from photoshop are faded/washed out. I've read about it a lot in here and tried everything. I use Epson XP-970. I've reset the photoshop preferences, I print in RGB, photoshop manages colour (pinter doesn't manage it - I turned that off), ICC profile is correct, paper is correct. Not to mention that this is my second printer and I had the same problem with my previous printer as well.

The interesting thing is that when I save the file as PDF and print it from PDF the colours are very vibrant and nice, but the quality is worse (image becomes grainy) that's why I keep trying to find out how to fix my problem in photoshop. When I print directly from ipad the colours are also vibrant (but grainy).

I really run out of ideas, please help.

Anyone had the same problem and fixed it?

Thanks

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about this. Could you try changing the screen color profile to sRGB IEC61966-2.1: https://www.lightroomqueen.com/how-do-i-change-my-monitor-profile-to-check-whether-its-corrupted/

Regards,
Sahil

Are you using "Photoshop manages color" or "Printer manages color"

and how are you printing the PDF? from what program and with what settings?

You may like to try this testimage

Print from Photoshop using either "Photoshop manages color" or "Printer manages color" and let us know how it looks

I hope this helps

Hi

I'm having the same problem as you have outlined here. Very pale washed out prints from Photoshop but good colour from a print using  Adobe acrobat PDF files. All the suggestions here don't solve the problem so I'm wondering did you manage to find a solution to the print problem? Also I'm getting the same results using Adobe Illustrator!
