Question

Where to put CEP extensions for PS 2015.5 - 17.0?

Hi,

Where to drop the extension CEP files to get them working in Photoshop CC 2015.5 (17.0)? I'm a PS plugin developer and we have a ton of plugins for PS (https://madebysource.com) and all work fine with PS 2015 (16.x). But 2015.5 just suddenly broke all panels. For the record the path we tested is ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP/extensions. Works fine in 2015 and all earlier versions but does not work in 2015.5. We have also tested /Library/Application Support/Adobe/CEP and /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5/Plug-ins/Panels and /Applications/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5/Adobe Photoshop CC 2015.5.app/Contents/Required/CEP/extensions. Maybe the problem in not in the path but in manifest file or somewhere else.

Thanks for help.

Same location.

Check your manifest and the versions you say you support? CC 2015.5 is version 17.0. Here is an example of something that will work way into the future:

      <Host Name="PHXS" Version="[14.0,99.9]"/>

That's a good start as to what changed, but something else seems to have changed about the dealing with signatures.  I was using the debug mode to do some development with an extension that has no signature and it was working fine in CC 2015.1 with the following set.

defaults read com.adobe.CSXS.6 PlayerDebugMode

1

Now in 2015.5 extensions with no signature do not seem to show up.  Is there a different CEP version? or a different way to ignore signatures?

Yes. Use .7 now for debugging as CEP is now version 7.

I have the same question. It would be great if anyone can help us asap. I am the panel developer of the Color Effects CC Panel.
