Why does my brush size keep increasing or decreasing Photoshop 2018

I"m using photoshop cc 2018 and all of a sudden the following is happening?

after selecting a brush and after clicking on my canvas, the brush size either increases or decreases.

why does this happen everytime I click on my canvas?

Hi there,

That shouldn't be happening, let's make it right.

Could you please try updating Photoshop to version 2020 via the Creative Cloud Desktop App and let us know if it helps?

You may also try enabling "Legacy compositing" located in Photoshop's Preferences > Performance, then relaunch Photoshop.

there is no such option on my end "Legacy compositing" and I can't upgrade to version 2020. I have windows 8.1

It seems like every once and awhile I keep on loosing features and I can't get them back. Last time it was my workspace and not it's this issue

I need this fixed. I can't even click and drag and brush over anything anymore. I alwasy have to dab the canvas

Hi Keith

First try resetting the Brush tool by right-clicking its icon in the options bar. If that doesn’t work, you may need to reset your preferences for Photoshop after backing up any custom settings. See this help file:
