Why doesn't generative fill work?

Running PS26.1 Generative fill works when it wants to. This is not good enough. I know I'm using it correctly as I have had plenty of success in the past. Now I get an orange dialogue box that says we've encountered an error. I have a cjoice I can ewrite to the void and expect to answer back or I can see a page of legalese that means nothing to me. 

I just want generativ e fill to work again. What do I do?
