Question

Why is type on a path so difficult?

I have been trying to type on a path for the last half hour. I've been a Photoshop user since 2004 and I've never had this much trouble! When I try to adjust the end point, it won't move past the first anchor in my text. I've tried everything I can think of and nothing works to move that end point. If I pull it further it jumps back to the beginning of the path.

Thanks, but this is what I've been doing the whole time. It's not working.

Can you attach the PSD file (or an example PSD in which this is happening). I'd like to take a look at the path and text set up.

Get your path selection tool (black arrow). Hover over the text path until you see this symbol (circled in red below).

Then click and drag to the right.

I wish that worked. It was the first thing I tried. Once I drag to the centerpoint of the path, the endpoint jumps back to the beginning of the path and all of the text vanishes. Nothing I try will get the endpoint to move past the center of the path.

in the future, to find the best place to post your message, use the list here, https://community.adobe.com/

p.s. i don't think the adobe website, and forums in particular, are easy to navigate, so don't spend a lot of time searching that forum list. do your best and we'll move the post (like this one has already been moved) if it helps you get responses.
