I was quite excited about Photoshop CC 2020 and the object selection tool. But without a tolerance setting, it is basically useless for white clipping selection. Help? Does anyone know what is going on?

This is not the only selection command without tolerance. Adobe is using their machine learning algorithms to power this and some other selection commands. If we call it object selection tool and it is created to select object, what is point in having tolerance? If you marquee single object then it should recognize and select that object, what to instruct with tolerance?

The object selection tool is just to get a close and rough selection, which is then taken select and mask to refine. There are no tolerance controls, as it's an A.I. feature.
