Why was the best sharpening tool removed?

Photoshop 2020 still included the "vibration reduction" tool.

But then it disappeared 😞

(Tool name is translation from Finnish. I don't know what the English name of the tool is)

An explanation is in the notes for the April 2022 release when the feature was removed:

Removal of Camera Shake Reduction
With the April release of Photoshop 23.3, Camera Shake Reduction (Filter > Sharpen > Shake Reduction) will be removed. The technology is not compatible with newer development platforms.

In other words, it sounds like it was written in old code that they chose not to update. We do not know if they are working on a replacement written using a current development platform. If there is not already a feature request in the Ideas section of this community to bring back Shake Reduction, you could start one.
