Wondering how to make a layer that has a glow effect flicker faster than the other layers

Hello. I am working on a project that has multiple layers with glow effects added onto them. I have them in Photoshop's animation timeline and have found a flicker pattern and speed that I like.  However, I want the fireplace to flicker faster than the other layers without having to undo the speed and pattern I have set for everything else. Instead of flickering at the same time as everything else, I'd like for it to mimick a real fireplace while everything else stays the same. Does anyone know of a way to do that? I have tried removing the effect of the fireplace so that it does not do anything so that I could then change the pattern and speed of it... but then the timing and pattern of the other layers have to be changed along with it.  For example, on the frames where the lights are the brightest, the amount of seconds on those layers is obviously set at their longest so that it stays bright for a long amount of time, this makes it impossible to make the fireplace flicker at a different rate continuously as it would remain stuck at whatever capacity is set for it during those longer frames when the tree and deer lights are bright. I have not been able to find any type of work around for this but any suggestions would be helpful if anyone has some ideas. Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Also, it is slightly difficult to elaborate what it is that I am struggling with so I might try and reply to this post with a video showing in real time what the issue is. Basically, the layers (tree, deer, fireplace, etc.) are all in one frame and there are multiple frames with these layers in it. The frames are all set to last for a certain amount of seconds. One frame may be 2 seconds while the one after it can be set to one minute. In each frame, the layers are at different capacities, but each layer can only be one capacity per frame. So for 30 seconds the tree can be bright. This makes it to where I can't make the fireplace flicker in that frame as that frame is 30 seconds long. I'd like to be able to keep the tree bright for those 30 seconds but have the fireplace flicker continuously in that frame.

    Hi Samantha.  It might be useful to see your workspace and timeline for this.  Are the clips with different speeds laid out one after the other on a single track, or are you stacking them?  I have not used Photoshop for this sort of video, but I think you should be able to stack the tracks by setting the upper layer(s) to Lighten or Screen.

     

    I am only seeing a part screen vertical format video with most of the fireplace out of frame.  Is that right?  I think YouTube does this if you have any vertical content in your upload, but I have no idea what you started with.

      The original project was actually created with those dimensions and the Santa and Fireplace were generated with AI prompts using Generative Fill.  I was trying to create a vintage greeting card vibe so some of the stuff is cut off the edges of the card on purpose. Also, I was able to find another way to get the fireplace to flicker faster. Had to do it with another video editor/renderer since the timeline in Photoshop had settings that were difficult to change once I rendered it as a video. Next time I will do like you suggested and look deeper at layer settings to see if it makes the timeline do something different. Thanks for helping out.
