I have these two triangles when printing with my epson 3880 printer. What do they mean?

The triangles can have a lot of causes. For example paper jam in the printer, empty ink cartridges, printer offline etc.

Please check the printer and the connection to your system. Can you print from other application?

What happens if you click the printer’s icon?

Do you get a dialog with a queue and some alert message?

Thanks to all conributors. Photoshop is continually upgrading and I notice they now put this yellow/exclamation mark triangle next to cartridges that are low in ink

@jon bovey "Thanks to all conributors. Photoshop is continually upgrading and I notice they now put this yellow/exclamation mark triangle next to cartridges that are low in ink"

Just to be clear - That's not "Photoshop" but an Epson driver dialog box, it's accessed via Photoshop's print command, sure, but that’s as far as Photoshop is involved (other than passing on some info to Epson's software about colour processing)

I hope this helps

@jon bovey that’s not looking like an Adobe error - but a MacOS error, in this case, it looks like the printer is not successfully connected. Or its switched off?

You may have to remove and re-add the printer in Apple's system preferences/printers
