Automatic transition to the active layer in the timeline

I actively use animation in Photoshop and I have a suggestion for improving the timeline.
When a layer is selected in the workspace, the layers menu automatically switches to the selected layer, but not in the timeline. I have to search for the layer myself.
Please add the ability to automatically transition to the selected layer in the timeline. And even better - to the selected frame.
This will greatly simplify and improve our animation workflow in Photoshop.

Assuming you are talking about the frame animation timeline,  frames and layers are separate i.e. any layer can be made visible in any frame and a single layer can appear in multiple frames. In addition a single frame can contain multiple layers. How would you want your idea to act under those scenarios?

Hi, Dave.
I mean, when you select one layer in the imagectrl+zlt+lclick (on the currently active frame), the layer is selected in the layers menu, and you go to it in the layers menu. But the same does not happen with this layer in the timeline menu and you have to find it yourself, scroll through the menu.
I'm not talking about selecting layers that are on other frames or selecting several layers at once.

Hi

So that is the video timeline rather than the frame animation timeline

Here, on Windows 10 with PS 23.1  it already works the way you want. Ctrl+Alt+Click on the object and both the layer is selected in the layers panel and the clip is selected in the timeline

I am currently using this version (23.1.0) and this feature does not work.

Layers are highlighted both in the layers menu and in the timeline, that's right. But in the layers menu - the slider is moved to the position where we can see the selected layer. And this does not happen in the timeline.

I'd missed that difference in the movement of the scrollbars. I get it now 🙂

Yes that would be useful - I've added my vote.
