Display metadata GPS location for image(s) on a Map

A Map function or window should be included in Photoshop, so that an image's location can be shown visually on a map as part of the Image Info or similar display.  There should be different map types offered, such as USGS topo, OpenStreetMap, CalTopo, Apple/Google Maps, etc.

A Map View function is also desperately needed in Bridge, so when a folder of images with GPS data is opened, their locations can be identified visually on a map. It should be possible to select certain images (or groups) directly from the Map for collective metadata editing and / or opening in Photoshop.

@westdr1dw When you start a new thread, you click the option to raise it as a Discussion, a Bug or an Idea. That allows filtering by the category. This thread is under 'Ideas'

So the buckets where we post information no longer exist. Just toss it out there and people will figure it out? Appears the links for posting ideas are still active. Just want to be sure everyone understand the rules. 🙂

'Photoshop is supposed to be the higher-end or more robust (than Lightroom) of Adobe's iamging applications'

I would disagree with that, both Photoshop and Lightroom (particularly Lightroom Classic) are valid in different ways in a workflow, I use both daily, and each has their strengths.

Your idea request is valid though and this is the correct place to raise it. People can upvote it using the box next to your first post.

Photoshop is supposed to be the higher-end or more robust (than Lightroom) of Adobe's iamging applications.  Certainly, it should have more, and better, capabilities.  Since LR has a mapping function, why shouldn't Photoshop have that too, so users don't have to constantly switch back and forth as they're working?

Uploading to Google Earth is a VERY poor solution, as:

1)  That adds yet another app to have to switch back and forth between, and

2)  The vast majority of Photoshop creators don't want large quantities of their in-process and unfinished work presented on a publicly-accessed online resource.  Many also don't want their work to be supporting Google's use of said work for training of its AI fabrication efforts.  🙁

Not sure why you want a map viewer inside PS. Have you checked out the map module in LrC? Assuming you want to view the images based on a geographical location. Google Earth also allowed the user to post images. Not sure if this is still the case since I have not used it in a stretch. Adding too many features can slow down the app unnecessarily.
