PARAMETRIC FILTERS

Although I am a big fan of the new Neural Filters... I don't understand the 'new' parametric ones. Wouldn't it be better to 'clean up' or 'enhance' the ones that have lingered without any updating the lengthy list of filters that have been languishing for many years already there in 'filters' instead? For instance, 'Artistic, Brush Strokes and Sketch'?

I have found the parametric filters fine, they work ok with many images - never seen a 'not supported' message though generally stick to 8bit RGB images (2000 x 2000 or so). They are not the quickest but they can be used to create lots of different designs, just by messing around with the settings and re-application and combining. As single effects, they are not that great but combined, they can be pretty amazing.

I only wish there was more randomization options such as 'random' button to tryout different settings without having to keep going to the edit field and updating individually. Just hope this filter set is finally added to the 'official' release

What would be great is if I could actually get the Parametric Filters to work.  I can see them but get a "Not Supported" pop-up.  I've done everything that has been suggested (8-bit instead of 16-bit, RGB, etc.) but nothing has worked.  I've seen a lot of posts where others are experiencing the same issue.

Totally agree, would love to see all the filters updated to the modern styles such as output options (smart object, new layer, new document, new selection, new mask etc as in the neural filters) and also just adding better previews to all of them, also more randomize options / experiments as well as draggable label sliders on all and much more. Would love to see a displace filter that doesn't have a two dialog approach. Presets to be added to all the panels for the filters so you can save all the effects. Also, all the effects should be available and modifiable along the timeline for videos etc .... as well as a channel setting so they can be used in just the red and green etc channel as well as applied to a selection or multiple selections. Also, perhaps a multiple repeat apply so you can apply them in batches of 10 or 20 etc. Or be able to build up rapid connected filters to feed one effect into another effect into another effect for an end result. As well as the ability to apply the filters to multiple selected layers

Anyway, it would be great to see Adobe update all these filters

Yes there are a ton a legacy filters in photoshop that need updating

I believe the Parametric filters use different code than say the Neural filters, so Adobe is experimenting.

There are some interesting filters like the Symmetry filter.
