Pasted layer retains its name

Here’s a suggestion for improving Photoshop- if I have an open image, and I copy it, and paste it on top of another open image in Photoshop, then the pasted layer would retain the name of the copied and pasted image, instead of being called the generic Layer 1. This should be doubly true if that copied image has been already named (changed from “Background” into a named layer.

If I have named an open image, I copy it and paste it into another document, it would save me time and avoid possible issues later if it kept its original name in that layer. Thanks
