Allowing separators to be inserted inbetween groups of tools would be a wonderful addition!

    Gotcha.  Those were actually removed consciously as part of the design change.  I'll see what we can do about putting them back.

    The small line separators that used to be on the main left toolbar up to CC 2015.

    Howdy Chris,

    What sort of separators are you looking for?  You can group tools as you would like or have each tool separate, regardless of associated shortcut.  Where would you want a separator to appear?  I'm not sure I understand your request.  Could you clarify?
