Command F question

Previously Command F while working on a layer would feather the object in the layer I was working on. Now when I hit command F photoshop opens the "Find" dialogue box.  What am I missing?

I understand the need to improve and create updates and all. Please, leave the functions alone, I'm 58 years old and although fairly computer savvy I hate having to re-learn my program all over again!

Thanks in advance for any help that can be offered.

Example can be found at about 4:30 of this video.

I am currently using High Sierra 10.13.1

and photoshop version 19.0.1

I'm older than you, but still remembered that Command-F redid the last filter. Which may well have been feathering, unless you had changed your keyboard shortcuts.

Speaking of which, in the Edit menu is Keyboard Shortcuts, and its first option is to Use Legacy Channel Shortcuts. That might help you elsewhere, but not in the case of Last Filter.

You can change it though, and set Last Filter to use Command-F. When you do that there is a handy button to take you over to the Search menu item, to give it a new keystroke, perhaps the Ctrl-Command-F, that you just removed from Last Filter.

I'm not going to do that, I use Find in so many applications with Command-F, and Last Filter only occasionally, so I don't mind having to do Ctrl-Command-F for Last Filter from now on.
