I just updated to Photoshop v 22.4.3 and Bridge v 11.1 yesterday, and today when dragging an .eps file from Bridge over to an open Photoshop canvas, it is flattening the .eps file and getting rid of transparency, even though it's showing as a smart object layer. Would anyone know how to fix this? Is it a bug or a weird setting that got adjusted?

There have been a number of reported issues with .eps files and Photoshop.
The issue is Photohsop does not recognize if its a PS .eps format or a Vector .eps.
The solution is to go to File/Place (embedded or linked) and choose Photoshop EPS.

Thank you for this. I was hoping there'd be a faster solution other than placing a file, as this really messes with my workflow.

If placing as a Photoshop EPS works - you can go to your Bridge preferences/File Type Associations and change Encapsulated PostScript from Illustrator to Photoshop and try again.

I tried to place the .eps as either a linked or embedded Photoshop EPS this morning, and it's still not recognizing transparency. The only solution I've found so far is to open the .eps in Illustrator, and copy/paste it into Photoshop. Not ideal! Is there somewhere I can report this as a bug?

I just tried this too and I'm getting the same result as Nic. It took a pretty quick and easy workflow to a very awkward one.
