Hi everyone, my photoshop is now not activating after having to replace my Motherboard, CPU and Ram. Support are now saying i must ask in here due to using an older version of Photoshop.

You need to contact Adobe Care and give them your information.

Specifically ask them to "reset your activation count".

They cannot give you a new activation code or activate the account for you.

There are no more activation servers as this software is not longer supported for years and is End of Life.

@Kevin Stohlmeyer,

Unless something changed very recently (in last 2 weeks), Activation servers for CS5 & CS6 are still operational AFAIK.

@Tony5D42

An Activation Count Reset is absolutely the ONLY thing Adobe support can do for you.  And sometimes that requires a supervisor because ordinary agents don't know how to do it.

You really should give some thought to upgrading to latest Photoshop.  CS5 from 2010 is very outdated, unsupported and you're using it at your own risk.  It might work or it might not.

MODERN OPTIONS:
Photoshop Elements (under $100, no subscription needed).

Creative Cloud Photography Plan (approx $10/month for 12 months). Includes the following:
- Photoshop CC and Photoshop on iPad
- Lightroom on desktop, mobile and the web
- Lightroom Classic
- Portfolio website + hosting
- Spark with premium features
- Bridge
- 20 GB cloud storage (upgradable to 1 TB).

Hope that helps.

I gave up trying to activate, removed the CS5 software and bought Photoshop CC.. I have a I7 8700 with 32gb ram running on fast SSD's and it's slower plus the screen freezes now and again and selector lines don't dissapear plus other issues. Alltogether it's nowhere near as good as the CS5 was!
