Something for the weekend - Part 142 - Castle in the air

There were some great ideas in our last countryside "stile" challenge. This time, I thought we should go bigger, as well as much more remote. So, I bring you this castle high in the mountains. What will you do with it? Whatever it is, you better get it done before the weather closes in 🙂

The “rules”:

* Anything goes, as long as it meets the forum rules on decency, copyright etc

* Anyone, and everyone, is welcome to have a go, whether you are a complete beginner or a Photoshop expert. This is not just for our forum "regulars".

* There are no prizes apart from the chance to practice, show off, or bring a bit of humour and fun. Don't be shy, join in and have a go!

To download the image below at its full pixel size, and with an embedded ICC colour profile (sRGB), hover over the image and click on the circle with the arrows at the top right. Then, when the image opens in its own window, right click and choose “Save Image As/Save Target As” (or similar depending on your browser).

When posting back your image – please use the Blue reply button in this first post. If posting a comment on someone else’s entry then please use the grey reply button next to their image post.

Have fun.

Dave

Nicely done on the gray sky, Dave, and I was wondering how you did it?

It all fits together nicely Euan. Another outing for Photoshop's sky replacement?

It is Dave.  I have become quite a fan of it.  I've used it several times just to select the sky area, and drag the SR layer mask for another eeffect.  That might be simply inserting a new background, but also to restrict an effect to the sky — one of the Topaz plugin effects for instance.   We get some nice skies here sometimes, and I have collected one or two.  I am not sure if there is an ideal pixel size for them, or just keep them at the maximum res as taken.  I don't have enough to be worth sharing yet, but I'd be pleased to spread some NZ long white cloud around thee globe when I do.

I know that trebuchet Jacob. It stand near Loch Ness, but should do a suitable job on the castle from that vantage point. 🙂

And Dave, in my very first SFTW entry it had just made a hole in one; also a round tower.
