Video frames to layers not showing preview

Hello! I have been having problems with the video frames to layers section of photoshop. Every time I import a clip and select video frames to layers I cannot see the preview of the clip therefore making it harder to select the exact range for me to animate.

 

The whole preview screen is black and when I try moving the scrubber it remains black so I cannot see any of the content in the clip. I have played the clip normally through quicktime and it works fine except for when it's imported. I have tried restarting my computer and it has not fixed it.

 

Please can someone adivse me on how to fix this.

Yes you should be able to see your video. It works fine for me. I suggest clearning your Photohop settings, preferences file by Quitting, and then Hold down Command+Shift+Option (Ctrl+Alt+Shift on PC) and hold it down as you double-click until the pop-up window appears askig if you would like to delete your settings.

 

Also make sure that your video file format is one that is listed here:
