error when printing: because the default printer could not be opened.

I have been using this program since 2020 and all of a sudden when I try to print (4x6) I get an error: because the default printer could not be opened.  I can print out of windows with no problem.  It only happens in my photoshop elements program.  I took it to a computer repair and he could not figure it out.  Please help!  Has anyone had this happen?  I print specialized sizes and need this program to work.

Try updating or rolling back the printer driver.

Try this if your printer is connected via wifi to your computer:  Plug a cable in from your printer to your computer.

Try resetting the preferences file. Go to Edit>Preferences>General tab and click the Reset Preferences on next launch button.

this worked and it was SO simple.  I searched off and on, and did really crazy work arounds that were time consuming for over a year before I could get it to work. I am so thankful for this tip
