Photoshop Elements 2021 permanent PC crash

When I work in Photoshop Elements 2021 Editor, no matter what, my PC keeps crashing. I have already installed the latest Windows updates (Win 10 V 20H2) and PSE 3 times from DVD. Does anyone else have this problem? I am desperate. Sorry my english. Greetings from Angelika, Germany

Try updating or rolling back your graphics driver directly from the video card manufacturer’s site.

I have now installed the latest driver and my PC is still rebooting when I work in Photoshop Elements 2021 and click, for example, on the "Automatic selection" tool and then on "Select subject". I use that very often. Have Intel i9 processor, Intel UHD 630 graphics card, V27.20.100.9030 16 GB DDR4, the latest Windows 10 x64 update (V20H2) and PSE 2021 version 19.0

It can't be because of the software, because I downloaded the trial version from Adobe once. The error has already occurred. Then uninstalled and 2 days later from my original DVD. The problem is the same.

UPDATE:

I reinstalled my PC yesterday, installed only graphics drivers and windows 10 latest updates and WLAN, then installed PSE 2021 but same problem. Always PC crash.

We're sorry for the crash issue. May I know at what step, Photoshop Elements crashing for you? Also, are you seeing this issue after any certain update of Photoshop Elements?

Hello Mohid,

I have version 19.0 from PSE 2019 and I think this is the latest version. The PC crash occurs when, for example when I click "Select Motive" or click "Smooth skin" in assistant mode.

I activated and signed in to the hidden admin account in Windows 10. Unfortunately, the same problem was also present. Now I have deactivated it again.

Now I'm at the end.

For many days I have been trying to make the PSE2021 run, that the PC doesn't always drive me down when I work with it.
I have win10 pro the latest update of "20H2", changed the graphics card, downloaded the trial version (same problem), installed my original DVD, sometimes from the desktop and sometimes as an administrator, then sometimes with new user, but nothing helped. Had cleaned up with Creative-cloud-cleaner each time after uninstalling and also the registry with ccleaner.
Doesn't anyone have an idea for me to run it flawlessly?

I also had win 10 pro completely reinstalled, latest update and graphics card latest driver. No other programs or anti-virus protection on it. Only WLAN.Then installed, but same problem.

Hi, yes. I have the same problem since I bought the 2021 version moving up from ver12. It is very frustrating as it seems completely random when the program does work. Like you I have uninstalled and reinstalled numerous times but it makes no difference. I have loads of DDR RAM (6GB). The constant crash report coming up and the program being non-functional makes me want to go back to ver12.

I have PSE 2021 on a brand new PC with all current drivers and it too crashes when i try selecting the subject. it doesn't just crash the software. it crashes the entire laptop. i had to hard reboot it. it has happened every time i try to select the subject regardless of how big or small or complex or simple the subject is.

it is definitely a photoshop elements issue.

Hi Everyone,

I am having the same problem with PSE 2021 on my HP Spectre laptop. PSE 2019 worked without any issues. I spent over an hour chatting with an adobe rep a few nights ago. They took over my computer, ran all available updates, uninstalled and re-installed PSE 2021 and it's still crashing. I'm reaching out to the support team again. Will keep you posted if we figure out the issue. I hope it can be fixed and that it's not a glitch in the software itself : /

The issue is finally resolved! The online chat rep took over my computer and renamed a plug-in file for PSE 2021. It started working immediately after this was fixed1

I'm honestly not sure. I would start a chat with an online rep and tell them that that is the issue. They'll access your computer and do it for you. (P.S. the wait time for the agent on a chat is long but they do eventually come on... I multitasked while I waited.)

This is as far as I got trying to figure out which plug in it is. It was updated on 3.4.21 so I think it's something in the adobe creative cloud but I'm not sure which file.
