Hi,
I was told to re-instal Photoshop Elements 2022 due to an issue (can't now remember what it was.) I duly did this., but when I start the app and try to open the Photo Editor, I am asked for a serial number or redemption code. I don't have these any more, as after 4 years, I don't have the sales/installation documents.
How can I obtain these items again, so that I can proceed? Photoshop was working perfectly before I was asked to re-install it. Many thanks.
1 Correct answer
If Photoshop Elements is working for 4years you should have a serial number.
Search purchased materials: https://helpx.adobe.com/download-install/kb/find-serial-number.html
If you have registered PS Elements you can take a look into your Adobe account.
Check your account (if you purchased from or registered with adobe AND you remember the adobe id used to purchase/register), https://account.adobe.com
If your Adobe program is installed on another computer you can try recover its serial number

BTW: Serial numbers are important data and should be kept in order to obtain and/or carry out possible new installations or updates. Also sales/installation documents should be kept for later use.

Fortunately, I still have my previous computer, which has Element 2022 installed. I went on there and started up Photoshop, looked in Help>System Info and found my serial (for that installation, anyway.)
Unfortuantely, the serial number there is only 20 numbers long and the Activate This Software part of the installer (which it seems like `I have to do now) wants 24 numbers. So after a bit of good fortune in finding that I still have a working copy of PS, my hopes are dashed. What can I do now? I am still trying to find out where I bought the copy that's on my earlier computer, which I know was a download.

You can try to find the serial number with the appropriate tools that I posted in my formaer post.

Are you sure that's the serial number? The serial number of Adobe products has always been 24 digits.

I apologise, I have re-read your earlier reply and am going to try the serial number tool that you mentioned. I'll report back, thanks again.

Alright, I downloaded Mac Product Key Finder on my old Intel iMac. I ran it, and obtained the serial for my installation of Photoshop Elements 6.0. But then entering that number in Photohop Elements 2022, it is declared invalid. I have found the Adobe.com entry for my registered installed copy.
I was trying to find the download page for Elements 6.0, do you know where is can be found? I think that the issue is that I am trying to enter a password for Elements 6, into a copy of Elements 2022. Do you think that's correct?
Many thanks.

It's very difficult to find installation files for such old software.
For PSE 6 for Windows I found that: Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 for Windows : Adobe : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet A...
The Mac-Verdion I don't found.

Yes you're right. The serial number doesn't only matcfh with the appropriate version. So you can use a number for version 6 ONLY for this version and not for a previous or subsequent version.

Thank you. It appears that Elements 6 is no longer available. I wish I understood why (when I started this thread) I had a configuration error message ("Error 11") when trying to start my version of Elements 2022. Sorry if I should have mentioned that at the start, I have only just discovered the screenshot I made at the time.

Photoshop Elements 6 was released in September 2007 and isn't compatible with newer hardware and operating system. So it doesn't make sense to published the installations files. Also there are no support from adobe for years.
Do you have tried to reinstall PSE 2022?
