How to select subject and place it on a white background

Hi, I have selected the object in my photo and went to refine edge and selected new layer. The selected object then transfers to a checkered background. How do I make it so that I can place it onto a white background? I'm trying to take some stock photos.

The checkered background indicates transparency. If you want a white (or any other color) background, create a new layer underneath the extracted object, and fill that layer with white or any other color.
