3D Extrusion Problem

New Here ,
Feb 27, 2020 Feb 27, 2020

I have had a problem creating curved extrusions in PhotoShop 2018 and 2020. Whenever I make the rotation with Illustrator smart objects and also layers created in PhotoShop itself, the end result has streaks running horizontally across the final extrusion. I have attached a wine glass extrusion to give an example of the problem. Preset spheres etc. are created prefectly, but any curved surface I generate myself has these lines which infortunately make renders either in PS or Dimension unusable.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks,

It looks like your path is not smooth which may be the result of the smart object.  Have you tried using the pen tool in Photoshop then extruding from the workpath directly rather than the layer?

Hi Dave,

Worked a treat. Thank you very much! I'd almost given up hope.

Cheers,

Al
