Add colored reflection onto metal

Hello!

I was wondering if anyone with experience in product/jewellery product shots knew the answer to my question:

How do you add a technical coloured refelction to create the illustion that a product shot with a metallic element looks like it is sitting in-situ on a coloured background?

The finished image should look like this:

But the product provided looks like this:

You can see that there should be a little bit of a teal cast to the lower part of the rings. And the inner coloured reflections should be crisp and technical.

The ring elements are smart objects that can be fully edited.

I haven't been able to find a solution to this on my own or anywhere on the web so some advice would be very much appreciated! Thanks!

Solid Color Layers set to the appropriate Blend Mode and with the correspoinding Layer Masks and Vectir Masks can be helpful.

If the result of »Multiply« is too dark »Color« (in combination with a Curves Layer if necessary) might work out better.

In adition to the answer of c_pfaffenbichler: you can also use a blending mode with a lowered opacity. And add an Adjustment Layer Levels or Curves to finetune the result.
