Add point to a vector line without handles in Photoshop same as in Illustrator

This there a way to add a point to a vector line in Photoshop that doesn't automatically create a curved line point; that is, a point with handles? When adding a point in Illustrator, the new point is treated as a corner point rather than a curve point. Can this be done in Photoshop without having to convert the point after it's added? I have to mask out images that have sharp angles and often I have to add an additional point. After its added, I then have to use the Convert Point Tool to make it a "corner" point. Is there a faster/better way?

Thanks!

Hi!

Unfortuately no. There is not a short cut for creating a corner point if you use the Add Anchor Point tool and click on a curveed segment. If you draw the path by clicking to create straight lines then the point you add will be a straight line or corner point. But if you click on a curved segment it automatically makes a curve point. Adding a modifier key to turn it into a straight line or corner would be a nice addition!
