Batch process 1:1 crop but allow user to manually choose the area in each image
Hello,
Hoping someone might know the answer to this (or if its even possible with photoshop actions!)
I'm trying to batch crop photos to square but prompt the user to identify specifically where the crop will occur within each image since that'll lead to the strongest compositions (the raws have been shot in a variety of orientations).
Basically I'm hoping to create an action that does something along the lines of the following:
- Open folders containing images
- Opens individual image
- Overlays a crop of 1:1 aspect ratio (square)
- Lets user move around/expand or shrink square shape within each image
- User manually 'enters' to confirm the crop
- Action then sets square to a maximum width of 1000px
- Auto-Saves all images as .png into a single 'proccessed squares' sub-folder off the original import one
- Opens next files and repeats till all images in folder have been processed
Is this even possible using Actions? All I've managed before is saving images to max width, filling canvas blank space and bulk export to set formats for web.
Thanks for any help (or even just advice that this isn't possible!)
Cheers, Andy
