Brush cursor COLOR

I am so frustrated with the Photoshop 2020 brush cursur. I am trying to retouch tone while working on a black and white layer. The damn cursur keeps flipping back and forth between white and black depending on the tone I'm hovering over. Essentially it is disapearing to my eyes. CAN I MAKE IT A CONSTANT WHITE OR OTHER COLOR??? FCUK THIS KILLING ME!

Can you post soem screenshot with problem visible? Please include and Photoshop window in screenshot so we can see which blending mode is set in the Options bar for active tool.
