Brush not working in Photoshop and scrolling the screen instead??

     I'm using a Surface Pro and I have been using Photoshop on it for about 5 months and have not had this problem until now. Whenever I use my stylus to draw using the brush tool, the screen scrolls down instead. I have checked all of my settings and I think it may just be a problem with Photoshop not liking my pen for some reason (since about every 10 strokes it will make a stroke but it's super slow). I can draw fine with my mouse though. Has anyone else had this problem? It's very aggravating and I would like to get it fixed as soon as possible.

Hi

Please search before posting - this has been answered many times on the forum. The third option below seems to be the most effective for users of the surface pro.

The latest Microsoft Windows update (KB4093112)  has caused an issue with tablets and Photoshop.

You can either - undo the update

or

Do the following  :

1. Use notepad to create a text file and type in :

UseSystemStylus 0

2. Save the file as PSUserConfig.txt in the following location
C: > Users > Username > AppData > Roaming > Adobe > Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 > Adobe Photoshop CC 2018 Settings

3. Go to the  tablet properties and uncheck "Use Windows Ink"

4. Restart Photoshop

That is it - all should now work well (you need to do all the above steps to retain pen pressure)

There is a third option if the above does not work on your tablet. Microsoft made this change intentionally and they have issued a way round it with registry change (see link below). However for  Photoshop and most tablets the PSUserConfig method works.
