brushes not working on photoshop

Hi everyone, i'm having issues with the brushes i downloaded on photoshop, i can install them and use them but the textures never fit, it doesn't look a bit the way it should... Is there a setting i should know in order to make it work properly?

Can you post some screenshot with problem and Brush Settings panel visible while Brush tool active. There are lot of settings zou can adjust from Window > Brush Settings. We need first to determine what exactly is your problem, next we need to look at brush settings and then we may be able to provide solution.

Without a screenshot, the first thing to guess is to check the options bar to see if there is a Blend mode. If so, change it to Normal.
