Hello guys! Can I save a photo that was edited in photoshop using layer masks, but keeping the records that were used by the camera to capture the main image? All photos that I perform in Photoshop work are being saved to the computer without camera metadata.

What exact steps are you doing when saving or exporting?

Save as retains metadata. Many export options remove metadata.

Hello Nancy! No. I open photoshop on my computer and then I open the images on my computer and when making the edits I load other images as layer masks!
Thanks for answering!

Hi Stephen! I have the presets saved to keep the copyright and contact information recorded so I can save the data included or already embedded in the photo. Even so, in direct export as PNG, the camera data disappears and does not go to the saved file. Even when I save it in .JPG format, photoshop also doesn't take the data from the camera to the file. Sorry if the English is not very good ok? Thanks for answering.

In this other example, photoshop even demonstrates the source data of the photograph, but it is not loaded into the file saved on my computer.

Export removes camera related metadata, there is no option to retain it.

Export can retain some other metadata, which is probably why you are confused. There are many different kinds of metadata.

You'll need to use Save As if you want to retain camera metadata.
