Can I put a hyperlink into a PNG file that resides in a folder on my C: drive?

I would like to add a hyperlink to a static PNG file that is on my destop or in a folder on my hard drive. Is this possible?

  1. Can you add a link inside a PNG? No. PNG files only contain pictures and cannot contain any kind of link. Used in a web site you can “float” links over them. 
  2. Can you link TO a PNG from something else? Maybe. In a web site such a link could only work for you on your own computer.

As Above and to # 2 possibly only if you allowed access into your LAN (home/office network) from the Internet. Some kind of Port Forwarding setup to access the drive/folder and file name of that PNG file.

 

And I think your question should of been worded "hyperlink TO a PNG file on my C: drive". And not into a PNG file.
