Can’t copy/paste dialog box numbers between InDesign & Photoshop

I resize photos in Photoshop for use in InDesign a lot, and what I used to do was copy the exact size value of an image box in InDesign and paste it in the image size box in Photoshop.

There are a lot of photos of varying sizes, so shortcuts are crucial. However, upon some recent Photoshop update, I stopped being able to paste into any Photoshop dialog box with a ⌘+V. Now I have to open a dialog box and select "Paste".

Minor, I know. But when there are a lot of photos to resize, this becomes a hinderance. Is there a potential reason for this? Like a setting I can change? Or do I have to downgrade to an older version of Photoshop?

Have a look at the Image Processor Script in Photoshop for resizing your images in bulk. After resizing them, put all your images together in one folder and Place the images into your InDesign document (it makes it easy to keep them together for re-linking etc). If you have a design applied to the photographs such as an outline, or maybe rounded corners or a drop shadow, you can create and apply an Object Style to them, which makes it easy to apply and make global changes to the photographs.

Hmmm... that's an odd one, but I get your frustration; those extra moments add up!

I also have Mac 10.12 and PS 2017.1.1, but I am not able to reproduce the problem. Pasting into the Image Size dialogue box with keyboard shortcuts works as expected. You might try resetting your preferences to see if that resolves the issue: Preferences in Photoshop​.

If that doesn't work, let us know. Any other information you can provide about the behavior will help us further troubleshoot. For example, when you try to paste via Command V, what exactly happens? Is it simply non responsive, or do you get some kind of error? Are you able to paste the text you've copied from InDesign into another application using keyboard shortcuts?
