Hello Every member at this forum.

I'll trying to help a friend wit her Photoshop, she has a huge problem. Until 6/7 she could edit photos and images in her Photoshop, but not any more. She writes: "Can not edit my photos in Photoshop CC 2017 neither raw nor jpg files".

I have also Photoshop and have looked every where what might be her problem, she subscribes to PS and LR and has paid. She has tried to start it as an Administrator, neither does it work.

Therefore, we try to see if someone knows the problem and how to solve it. Thanks in advance.

Hello mikaels, any luck, i have read somewhere that some peripherals interfere some how with PS, its very strange but with this problem you can try anything. Disconnect any peripheral you have, i dont know if your friend is working on Pc or Mac if its a pc try to disconnect the keyboard and use another, same with the mouse.

Do you try to open does files, see if you can open them in a different equipment, i recommend to reinstall the application, that can probably help. If you have a screenshot of any error as mcorn recommends would be a great help to understand  the problem.

Is it possible to upload a screenshot of any error message your friend might receive upon trying to open such files in Photoshop?

She doesn't get any error at all. It's only that she can't open any type of image with PS. If she clicks in Bridge to open it in camera RAW it works, but then when she chooses Open Image it wouldn't show anything.

wow, this is very unusual, without any error is difficult to know what could be the problem.

Does this happen with any file or just with some specific files, are this files RAW, if they are, witch camera you use.

1.- Try to clean de preferences and cache from PS.

2.- If that doesn't work try reinstalling the application.

    Try resetting your Photoshop preferences.

Is it under Edit > Preferences? There are 2 buttons at bottom.

It's under Photoshop Preferences under the General tab.
