Change Brightness of Bevel

Applying Bevel and Emboss to this rectangle gives the right and bottom beveled edges that are excessively dark:

Is there a way to increase the brightness of the two dark bevel edges without effecting the brightness of the two other edges?

I know I can do this by separating out the dark beveled edges as separate layers > applying Brightness changes > merging the layers, but that's a cumbersome process and I'm wondering if there's a more direct way to modify those edges.
