Question

Color difference between PNG and JPEG

Hello,

I have been having issues when saving in different file formats with the coloring of the photo. I save 2 different files for each image, one JPEG for my clients' disk, and PNG for my website gallery. What I've noticed is that my PNG images look exactly how I edited them to look, but when converting to JPEG it changes the color significantly (to me anyways).

On another forum someone had mention to make sure the convert so sRGB box is checked, which it is. I am currently using PS CC 2017 on a Macbook air.

I attached an example below.

Simple answer: Lack of color management. Just arbitrarily enabling the sRGB checkbox will not do anything, if you are not working calibrated or in fact mess up the colors based on wrong assumptions, which more ore less is what you are seeing. You need to read up on this stuff and instate at least a minimum level of CM and/ or forego such stuff, hoping that Apple have done their work and your factory default monitor settings are reasonably and relaibly close to a standard sRGB profile already, give or take your individual tweaks of course.
