'Could not complete the Batch command because of a disk error'

I keep getting this same message when I try to batch edit my images — 

'Could not complete the Batch command because of a disk error'. 

There's another thread on here citing the same issue — dated March 2021— and the guy mentioned that it may be an iCloud issue — but I dont have iCloud turned on, so it's not that.

I've checked in the System Preferences if Photoshop has permissions for files/folders — it has.

I'm at a loss — I really need this funtionality!! I have 100s of images to edit. Doing them singularly is definitely not an option,

Please can someone help me? 🙂
