Could not place “jpg” because the file was not found.

I am on 20.0.7 and this happened to me this morning. Anything having to do opening a .jpg, I got this message. I initially thought it was a hard drive issue.

 

after over an hour beating my head agaist the wall, running diagnostics, troubleshooting, I remebered that ACR had updated this morning, When I went to see what version of ACR I had in photoshop: About plugins > Camera Raw... I got a similar error regarding opening Adobe Camera Raw.

 

I found the previous version of ACR and installed it manua

I found the previous version of ACR and installed it manually over the current and everything went back to normal.
