Hi dalp86471676,

Sorry that Photoshop CS5 is crashing while opening a PDF file.

We'd need some more detail to suggest you some troubleshooting steps to work this issue.

  • Which operating system are you using?
  • Does the app crashes with other file formats or while opening other PDF's?
  • Which exact version of Photoshop CS5 are you using? You may post the Help>>System info report from Photoshop here.

Regards,

Akash

PS was updated and that was needed, but it did not solve the problem. With PS OK, I.m assuming that something was done to the pdf file.

Thanks again

Try opening the PDF this way:

  1. Right-click the PDF, then choose Open with >> PhotoShop. or,
  2. With PhotoShop open, drag-drop the PDF from the Finder window to the PhotoShop window.

1. I have rt clicked the pdf in file explorer, selected open with PS, 2. dragged the pdf to an open PS. and 3. opened from PS  and each time I get the message   " Adobe PS has stopped working" CLOSE PROGRAM.
