Ctrl + and Ctrl - zoom has stopped working Photoshop cc 20.0.1 going back to v19.1.6 all works

I ran into what I think is a bug in

Adobe Photoshop Version: 20.0.1 20181029.r.41 2018/010/29: 1197484 x64

Number of Launches: 0

Operating System: Windows 10 64-bit

Previous build worked fine..

Ctrl + and Ctrl - have stopped working for zoom in and zoom out.

They are still there is the preferences for keyboard shortcuts.

I have made no custom modifications.

I tried resetting all defaults, I still doesn't work.

I reverted back to the previous version and Ctrl + and Ctrl - work fine Yay! This version works fine:

Works fine for me on Windows 10 CC2019

When you say reset all defaults did that include resetting the preferences

Hi Ged, that is correct, used the option you circled, Reset Preferences on Quit. And it continued to not work after quitting and restarting Photoshop.

Version 19 works fine when I went back to it, only version 20 had the issue.

Not sure why just version 20 has the issue but the problem started immediately after updating Photoshop.

Something isn't right.

To continue troubleshooting:

I just reinstalled Photoshop Version 20.0.1 - Full details on Build at end of this post.

If Photoshop is opened first Ctrl + and Ctrl - works to zoom even if then Editing in Photoshop from Lightroom.

If Photoshop is not open first and I send a photo from Lightroom (Edit with external Editor from Lightroom selecting Photoshop) Ctrl + and Ctrl - does not work, even when opening other photos directly from Photoshop.

This was not a problem in Version 19.1.6, this problem has just started using Version 20.0.1

So from reading the other thread (link above)

Adobe is aware of a Bug using CTRL-J not working when opening Photoshop from Lightroom.

The work around is Open Photoshop first. Then move files to Photoshop from Lightroom.

This is the work around until Adobe fixes the bug.

This work-around appears to work with the CTRL + and CTRL - also.

Hopefully Adobe fixes the bug shortly and it resolves all issues.

So, why is it that Adobe has gone and done these stupid things to their software?

There was one other item I had to find a fix for the other day, which incorporated posting a text file with some code into the Settings folder under the "C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2019\" destination; however, whatever I did to find the actual Settings folder escapes my cranium.

This is becoming absurd. A-N-N-O-Y-I-N-G-L-Y absurd at that.

Yup... am having similar problems... but not just the keyboard sizing... other keyboard shortcuts don't work, menus seem to be greyed out... Fortunately, the Save and Save As seem to work, so I just save the file, shut down and restart PS.Sometimes it take a couple of attempts to work normally. Also, fortunately, the problem seems to occur virtually immediately on start up... Just foxed me a few times... now I know what to look for!

That's an issue relating to opening images from Lightroom when Photoshop is not opened

Neither yourself or the OP mentioned anything about using Lightroom

Nope... I didn't but thinking back, it seems to happen when opening from Bridge... wirh PS closed. IOW, open the file from Bridge starts PS...

Anyway, what's the problem? I said may have a solution... And it is a problem i'm facing...

Ok... but that was clear to me... but what crossed my mind was, if people are having and LR to PS problem, it could also be happening in Bridge to PS.

Anyway, let's see if Adobe fix this...

I know, an extrememly old thread, but CRTL & + stopped working on mine. I went through a few suggestions, nothing really worked. I found an extremely simple solution, the Num Lock key had to be inactive or not lit up or however you say it. Again sorry for such a delayed respose, but I did not see that suggestion in the form. Thank you.

This didn't solve the issue. It also jsut seemed to happen. Yesterday it worked jsut fine for zooming in. Even in chrome and other apps it's not zooming in any more. only ctrl + shift + = zooms in (which would be doing "+") not at all intuitive, but i used to jsut do ctrl + = to zoom in.

Ctrl + and Ctrl - zoom has stopped working Photoshop cc 20.0.1 going back to v19.1.6 all works
