Custom photoshop script to automate invitation card creation.

New Here ,
Mar 26, 2013 Mar 26, 2013

Im looking for a skilled scripter who would be interested in writing a custom photoshop script for me.

I am a graphic designer and my unfortunately my knowledge of photoshop doesnt extend to scripting

Please let me know a price that would cover the scripting work.

A friend of mine is creating the webpage through which all the input data would be collected for the script to work with.

Here is a short description.

The script will be used to automate invitation card creation.

there would be folder labeled ID ( based on the ID of the order that has just arrived )

there would be about 100-200 invitation templates with various designs residing on the hardrive under c:\TEPLATES

all the input data would be located here. say c:\ORDERS\ID1

the script would read the input texts from .txt files or .csv or whatever format we decide

so based on the contents of DESIGN.txt the script would open a corresponding psd file named DESIGN.psd

the psd template consists of several layers containing backround graphics and several text layers on top of those.

the contents of NAME.txt would go inside a text layer labeled NAME

the contents of DATE.txt would go inside a text layer labeled DATE

the contents of PERFORMERS.txt would go inside a text layer labeled PERFORMERS

etc.

etc.

the script would finaly save a copy of the finished psd file using the ID of the order as a name. e.g. ID1.psd to the folder c:\ORDERS\ID1\ID1.psd

all the scripting has to be done for a front page and a back page. so i imagine it would e ID1_FRONT.psd and ID1_BACK.psd

The script would have some kind of a minimal user interface

This would allow to select input and output folders could be specified by navigating to a path and confirming

Also the location of the templates could be specified the same way.

thats it, i hope i managed to explain it properly

Please get back to me by with a price of this by email if interested in doing this. Ill be glad to answer any questions.

My email is duda.jan@gmail.com

Thanks for your time.

Jan.

Seems strange to me that there is no image involved in your process why are you looking at the Photoshop scripting forum for a solution.

ah, the designs I create and work with are visualy very rich actually, with lots of effects on the text layers and layer blending with underlaying graphics is also used. So it has to be assembled in photoshop. Also there is the problem of manual tweaking, sice the input text may need some adjusting, font size for exaple to make sure the whole text fits withing the print boundaries. I need to go through the final output file myself to check and adjust if needed.

Did  you have a more effective solution in mind ?
