deleting actions

Explorer ,
Aug 25, 2017 Aug 25, 2017

I saw another answer about deleting actions but it didn't help because I'm not able to select the action and delete it. There also is no trash can to click to delete. I'm a relative newcomer to PS. I accidentally loaded some actions twice. I'm trying to figure out how to delete the duplicate actions but am not having any success. It would be great to assume I know nothing and give a step by step process how to even get the action to be selected and how to delete it if someone has the time to do so.

Thanks

Are your Actions in Button Mode? Look at the Actions Panel menu and be sure it is unchecked.

As Gener7 mentioned, you might be in button mode. Turn that off with the dropdown menu in the upper right of the actions pallet. Then you should see the trash can.

Thable gener7 and Chuck. I am in button mode. Never occurred to me that might be the problem. Will deal with that when I in front of the computer.
