I have the digimarc filter downloaded but when i send a lightroom image to photoshop for a digital water mark , the digimarc menu item is greyed out

Adobe support says you have to convert the image to 8 bit RGB for this filter to work. Anyone solved the problem?

    Well, did you? Image > Mode > 8 bits/channel.

It's 16 bits out of Lightroom, as it normally should be.

thanks for the reply, yes that works!

I was hoping to avoid converting to 8 bit though

We looked into Digimarc a few years ago but i found that i could run a few non-destructive Photoshop actions, strip the Digimarc code, and still maintain relatively good quality.

Adding the Digimarc seemed to degraded the image more than removing it.

As everyone says, if you don't want it stolen, don't put it on the web.
