disable Smoothing for all tool presets in CC2018

Dear support team,

All 100500 presets I have, have this 10% Smoothing thing enabled.

I really appreciate the effort but it'd be nice if you'd ask if I need this first or if this option was global for all the tools.

I didn't want that and I really don't like this jelly feeling for my previously rapid strokes.

Do I need to manually disable this Smoothing options for every tool I have or is there a proper solution? -_-

Cheers

If a Preset does not have Tool information saved with it it will not change what the value is set to on the Option bar. If a Preset has tool information saved with it it will use the value that was set when the preset was created. If you want to override the value(s) set in presets you can set to the desired value and use the lock on the Smoothing option in Brush Settings panel to always use that value.

I read 2 things on this. In Adobe's description of the new features it says to set smoothing to 0 for "legacy smoothing." I'm not sure this is enough. I've turned off anything to do with the new smoothing in Preferences in the Cursor section too. Also Julianne Kost in her Adobe blog writes: "to disable smoothing completely, use the Smoothing Option in the Brush Settings panel." This is obviously a pain and I haven't tested that yet. I want to use another program so I want to make sure nothing interferes. I also think messing with the gpu settings might help--basic, normal, advanced. And just an FYI, for some reason the Surface dial default is ON, so that was the first thing I turned off. Unless there's a coupon for $2,500 somewhere to buy a new Surface I'm not sure why this is default to ON. Good luck. I will post again if I see anything that permanantly disables it. I agree that this feature should be a choice. Maybe they could have a choice of using the "legacy version", i.e. no smoothing engine, like they did with the healing brush.

I didn't find anything either. I scoured the internet today looking for a way that didn't involve individually changing each brush. Nothing.

While we on the subject, would be nice if we could globally set things like "angle jitter" to always be controlled by "brush rotation", instead of pen tilt. Pen tilting is far less intuitive for controlling angle jitter anyways. It should be set to pen rotation by default if you ask me.

I believe that's not on the subject of Smoothing and also Pen Rotation is only supported by Wacom Art Pen, I doubt every Intuos/Cintiq owner has it so it'd be a default ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Your asking for global brush settings (no smoothing), and so am I. You want to globally turn something off and I want to globally turn something on (pen rotation). The subject should be about global brush settings.

CC2014? How can it help to get rid of smoothing in my tool presets in CC2018?
