Question

Drawing tablet for art and animation

Hi there!

I'm planning to get a drawing tablet this month, I'll use many programs such as Adobe family, Toonboom and Blender. I've got my eyes on cintiq 16 (not pro), Huion Kamvas pro 20 or Xp pen artist 15.6 pro. I 've used intuos for 5 years so I know wacom is more reliable. But some of my friends suggest me to get Huion or Xp-pen since they cost less than cintiq. I'm afraid that Huion or Xp pen are not compatible with some application such as toonboom or blender. I'll be glad if someone can share their experiences with these drawing tablet (latency, parallax, etc) whatsapp web 192.168.0.1 routerlogin

Thanks!

Ponytail... are you part of the Wacom Tablet group on Facebook?  If so then we probably know several of the same people.  🙂

No, I didn't even know there was one! I'm not on Facebook anymore, but have been thinking of going back, so if I do that, I'll find you. (Ha that sounded ominous. I WILL FIND YOU haha)

This is actually a great question.

I started using a Wacom Cintiq Companion 2, a year after it came out.  Loved it.  Then I moved to the Wacom MobileStudio Pro 1, loved it even more.  Granted these are full blown PCs running Windows 10 and not just a tablet.  However, I dream of the day that I can hop on a Cintiq Pro 32"!  Just having more space and being able to really zoom into a design would rock

Wacom also just released the Wacom One.  It looks cool and is more affordable than the Cintiq.  I have yet to get to test it, but living near Wacom's HQ in Europe... I am sure I will soon.

However, you are right Huion and the XP Pen are growing in popularity.  You also have Parblo as well.  Now, my only issue is that Wacom has been around longer thus, they really know creatives.  My suggestion would be to find a friend or colleague that has a Huion or XP Pen tablet and give it a try.  See if your friend will let you sit down with it for an hour or two.  Maybe you will love it... maybe you won't.  It could be that the screens have different textures or that the styluses vary quite a bit.  I think then it just boils down to your personal preference.

Regardless, what you choose.  I would love to hear back after!  To me, it would be interesting to hear your opinion on the product that you end up buying.  It would be exciting to test one out the Huion or XP Pen tablets personally.  Most of my friends are Wacom users.  But I am sure one will have one soon.
