eraser tool gone [2019]

New Here ,
Oct 17, 2019 Oct 17, 2019

I use photoshop 2019. I was going through the presets when I accidentally clicked on the background eraser. This caused the background eraser to replace the regular eraser on the toolbar.

HOWEVER, the regular eraser is NOT on the list of tool presets and I don't know how to restore it.

I don't know if I'm being dumb or if this is an actual problem.

Please help.

Click on the three dots at the bottom of the tool bar, or go to the main menu>Edit>Toolbar. When the dialog box appears, click on Restore Defaults.

Hello, you also need to make sure that you are in the essentials workspace.

"I was going through the presets when I accidentally clicked on the background eraser. "

Hi

Since the Eraser tool disappeared when you chose a preset for the background eraser, most likely it is still in the shared area for the three eraser tools and is hidden. To access hidden tools, you can:

  • Right click the tool
  • Press and hold with the left mouse button, then release
  • Hold Shift and use the shortcut, in this case, use Shift + E

The triangle in the corner indicates hidden tools.
