files in a stack loading out of order?

hi all,

i just recently updated my os to mac high sierra. i'm not sure if that's affected how photoshop works now, but previously, when loading files into a stack, all of my files were in the correct, numbered order? now, they're loading completely jumbled up. i make a lot of gifs, so this is obviously... not good...

i've gone back and tried loading a stack that i've previously made a gif from that i know loaded in the correct order, and it's also loading up incorrectly? help i'm exhausted and i don't know what i'm doing

ther other option is to set your stack order with Adobe Bridge and send them to Photoshop as a layer stack... this can do any kind of mix and match without the need to rename images (that is also an option of course but not needed)

p.s, yes updates to your Mac or Windows does effect how well Photoshop works

Have you tried resetting your preferences? When something really odd starts happening, that's always a good place to start.
