Hi Folks,

I am currently on PS Version 21.2.2 and Mac Catalina V 10.5.6

So when ever i try to run Filter - Noise - Median, my photoshop crashes. Its happening since past two days. I have tried every possible solution available on internet from deselecting GPU Processor to downgrading my PS version. But it hasn't helped me.

Can anyone provide me a solution to it??

Hello, could you post the contents of help/system info... so that we can see your settings (legacy compositing, GPU acceleration...)

Hi ranar

I remember I had this issue in scripts where the result of the Median would've been "impossible" ie: nothing to render.

Is it always the same picture that makes your photoshop crash with Median?

Could you post a screenshot of the picture that causes the crash and tell us what value you put in for the Median?

All the best!

Try logging into another account (you may need to make one); still crash?

Try logging into your main account in Safe mode (boot holding down shift key); still crash?

Try trashing your Photoshop preferences. Press and hold Alt+Control+Shift (Windows) or Option+Command+Shift (Mac OS) immediately after launching Photoshop. You will be prompted to delete the current settings.

(Mac OS only) Open the Preferences folder in the Library folder, and drag the Adobe Photoshop CS Settings folder to the Trash.

This action only affects the items found in the preferences dialog box. Numerous program settings are stored in the Adobe Photoshop Preferences file, including general display options, file-saving options, performance options, cursor options, transparency options, type options, and options for plug‑ins and scratch disks. Brushes (and lots of other setting) are not affected by the above instructions for deleting preferences. You may wish to make a screen capture of the settings in the Preferences dialog to reset them prior to deleting of this file.

»Brushes (and lots of other setting) are not affected by the above instructions for deleting preferences.«

I think that if custom brushes, styles, patterns etc. have never actually been saved restoring the Preferences would destroy them.
