Question

Hiding the canvas rotate compass rose?

I was sitting here using PSCS4 and I noticed that as I was rotating the canvas I no longer had that huge compass rose appear. I rather like it this way. I don't know if I hit something or if there is just a graphical updating glitch going on. But, is there a way to turn the compass rose on/off? If not, Adobe definitely needs to implement this along with the ability to make it smaller, or more translucent, if one so chooses.

Don't mean to resurrect a thread from the dead, but I'm still wondering if there is a remedy for this. I don't want to disable the rotation, just the "compass" visual guide. I really wish seeing it was an option.

You could use the scrubby slider instead of clicking in the image area to rotate.

Move you cursor near the Rotation Angle Input box and when the cursor turns

into a scrubby slider click with the mouse and rotate the image. With you mouse

down you can move the slider around on screen and still rotate the image.

Hold down the Shift key for faster rotation or hold down the Alt key for slower rotation.

I didn't download the plug-in (which may or may not work) but I did mess around with the rotate view tool button (next to the hand tool and zoom tool in the menu at the top of the screen - not the 3D rotate tools in the main toolbar) until the compass thing went away. Hope this helps.

That Macintosh download is a fix for a problem specific to Macbooks and totally disables the rotate tool rather than hide the rose.

The rose is a just a visual guide and, as I said, disappears when you release the mouse.

I actually have had a lot of problems with the rose NOT disappearing at all once it appears. I've had to save and close my files in order for it to go away.

It should disappear as soon as you let go of the mouse button.

I have the same problem - did you find a solution to this?
