Hi guys, this is driving me crazy. I'm trying to enable the shortcut key within the timeline window. Lots of people have said to check that option in the pop out menu... but it's not there! This option is simply not there for me!
Also... I want to assign the right arrow key to go to next frame, for example, but if I go to keyboard shortcuts and try to manually input them it says "these key cannot be used" when I try to assign "next frame" to the arrow right key.
So, I'm stuck.
Thanks for the help!
Ok, so I figured something out. I'm in "frame animation" mode.. when I change to "video timeline" I get the option to enable shortcut keys. Can I enable these keys for "frame animation" mode?

Can you post a screen shot of what you're getting? Have you tried resetting your preferences? This is what you should see:

Hi Chuck, thanks for the reply. Yup, just tried resetting preferences, still the same. The panel just doesn't include that option...

It looks like the shortcut keys are only for the video timeline and not the frame animation timeline.

I believe you're probably right, but why oh whyyyy would that be?? Is it just generally better to work in the video timeline window? I'm pretty new at this.

I know this is almost a decade old thread but I am having same issue of not seeing the timeline shortcut option for Frame Animation. Seems like Adobe still hasn't made this an option?
